Have You Packed Yet?

[COVID Day Five Hundred Sixty Nine]

#NO

It’s fascinating to me how when I’m procrastinating doing one thing, I will do SO MANY OTHER THINGS.

That I have been procrastinating.

For example, today is supposed to be packing and getting ready for tomorrow’s FIRST WORK TRIP IN TWENTY MONTHS I’M NOT FREAKING OUT YOU’RE FREAKING OUT.

#Ahem

Instead, I’ve assembled the gaming table in the basement. And done dishes and laundry and helped a child sit on the potty cause we’re toilet training and peeing in the pants a million times still means we have to sit on the potty again, yes, this time, yes, right now, stop getting up.

And they pee’d in their pants again.

I’ve also bought protein powder and almond milk and crunchy peanut butter so I can have my protein shake first thing in the morning even though I WILL NOT BE HERE IN THE MORNING FOR THE NEXT TEN DAYS.

And I tried to explain, with visuals, that Mama is going on a work trip to LA and to NC and then be home and if you ever want to see when Mama is going to be back, ask Papa what day it is and then you can count the number of days until they’re back and was completely and utterly ignored and the only question was, “Can I have candy now?”

Understandable since the calendar is right next to the Halloween pumpkin filled with candy.

Touche, Little Minions.

“Thanks for coming to my TED talk.”

“Have a skittles and get out.”

So I still need to pull out my luggage and my backpack, or packpack as Girl Twin would say, and pack everything up and hem and haw and figure out how to pack more or, realistically, how I’m not going to kill my back lugging all that weight from the west coast to the east coast.

And I’m still coughing.

Although not nearly as bad.

It’s only two something in the afternoon so we still have all the time in the world plus tomorrow’s flight doesn’t leave until twelve something so I have all morning, too.

Cause that’s how life works, right?

Now let’s see if I can mulch the leaves in the backyard and arrange all the sock drawers.
